Frequently Asked Questions

What is the process?

If you are interested in a boat package or just a hull or trailer only, we would be happy to schedule a time to discuss what you are looking for, what you will be using it for, and all the specifications that you are interested in.  We can meet in person at our shop, over a scheduled phone call or virtual meeting.  This is especially helpful if there are multiple end users.

The estimate will be itemized and sent over to you for approval.  Once a customer approves this, we would require a minimum 20% down to secure your spot on our build schedule.  At that time we order material needed for your build.

Approximately 1-1/2 months before completion, Jake will draw up a 3D cad drawing of your boat so you can see the boat before it is built and we can make any necessary changes at this time.  We would then require 40% down upon your design approval.  The remaining 40% is due day of completion.

Quality craftsmanship comes out of our shop and we want it to exceed your expectations.

*Changes after design approval may prolong lead time for your boat completion, however, we make every attempt to meet deadlines.  Electronics can be ordered at any point, email our head rigger scott@galemarine.com to discuss your needs.  Installation of electronics is based on time & material.

What is the current lead time on boats?

It can vary, depending on how many specs we need to meet for your build.  Generally, anywhere from 1-1/2 to 7 months out on average.  A down payment puts your build in the queue, and the actual build process goes fairly quickly.

We do perform boat upgrades and modifications when time allows, however, we are unable to give a firm date of completion on these.  We no longer perform complete boat restorations as they take focus away from our new builds.
