Frequently Asked Questions

What is the process?

If you are interested in a boat package or just a hull or trailer only, we would be happy to schedule a time to discuss what you are looking for, what you will be using it for, and all the specifications that you are interested in.  We can meet in person at our shop, over a scheduled phone call or virtual meeting.  This is especially helpful if there are multiple end users.

We will produce an itemized quote that will be emailed to you for approval.  Once a customer approves this, we would require a minimum 20% down to secure your spot on our build schedule.  At that time we begin ordering material needed for your build.

Jake will present you with a 3D cad drawing of your boat so you can see the boat before it is built and we can make any necessary changes at this time.  We would then require 40% down upon your design approval.  The remaining 40% is due day of completion.

Airboats require much more material & parts, so our standard is 25% down, then 25% upon cad design approval and when we order the motor, and the remaining 50% would be due day of completion.

Quality craftsmanship comes out of our shop and we want it to exceed your expectations.

*Changes after design approval may prolong lead time for your boat completion, however, we make every attempt to meet deadlines.  Electronics can be ordered at any point, email mike@galemarine.com to discuss your needs.  Installation of electronics is based on time & material.

What is the current lead time on boats?

It can vary, depending on how many specs we need to meet for your build and how many boat orders are ahead of yours.  If it’s a one off design, it can take longer due to increased design time in 3D cad.  Generally, anywhere from 1-1/2 to 7 months out is average.  When down payment is received it puts your boat build in the queue.  The actual build process goes fairly quickly once we have approval and begin building.

We do boat upgrades and modifications when time allows, however, we are unable to give a firm date of completion on these projects.
